The union representing state troopers is endorsing Elise Stefanik for the 21st Congressional District.

The Police Benevolent Association of the New York State Troopers represents 6,000 members, Stefanik's campaign said.

“The Police Benevolent Association of the New York State Troopers is proud to endorse Elise Stefanik for re-election to Congress,” union president Thomas H. Mungeer said in a prepared statement from Stefanik's re-election campaign. “Elise works in Congress to protect our rights as law enforcement officers so that we can protect our communities in New York State. Her opponent has joined the list of Far-Left Candidates that have smeared law enforcement officers in their advertisements. There is only one candidate in the NY-21 race that supports our mission of safety and law and order, Elise Stefanik. Our Union looks forward to working with Elise through the election and in her next term in Congress. She has our full support.”

“I am a staunch supporter of our New York State Troopers and all of our law enforcement, and I’m honored to be endorsed by the Police Benevolent Association of the New York State Troopers,” Stefanik, R-Schuylerville, said in a prepared statement. “Especially now, our law enforcement need our full support to ensure they have the tools and resources they need to safely protect us. I know that the NYS Troopers PBA works tirelessly to advocate for their troopers. A well-equipped, safe police force equals a safe community. I look forward to continuing to champion policy proposals that protect our law enforcement in my next term in Congress."
