Ice anglers are reminded that in accordance with state regulations all ice shanties must be removed from the ice by March 15.
This is to ensure that the structures do not fall through the ice and become potential navigation hazards.
Owners who fail to remove their shanties by this date can be ticketed and fined up to $100, according to the Department of Environmental Conservation.
