CANTON -- Board Certified Urologist Ihab Awad, MD, has joined St. Lawrence Health System’s medical team at Canton-Potsdam Hospital.
His office is located in the E.J. Noble Professional Building, 80 East Main St.
Dr. Awad is American Board of Urology certified, and American Society of Transplant Surgeons certified. He earned his medical degree at New York University School of Medicine, New York, NY; and underwent a fellowship at the State University of New York at Stony Brook, Stony Brook, NY. His residencies were conducted at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx, NY, in Urology, and Surgery.
“Canton-Potsdam Hospital provides everything I need to successfully provide the best treatment possible for urological conditions,” Dr. Awad said. “I eagerly look forward to establishing a productive, collegial relationship with the System’s medical community, which will translate into better care for all patients. The one-on-one relationships with colleagues that can be established here will make for effective care for our urological patients.”

Dr. Awad is a member of the American Urological Association, Medical Society of the State of New York, Nassau County Medical Society, American Association for the Advancement of Science, and American Chemical Society. He has conducted multiple research projects, and written several publications.
As a urologist, Dr. Awad focuses on surgical and medical diseases of the male and female urinary-tract system and the male reproductive organs. His specialties are helping patients with kidney, adrenal gland, ureter, urinary bladder, and urethra issues.
