United Helpers is now offering outpatient physical, occupational, and speech therapy services at the RiverLedge Campus in Ogdensburg and Maplewood Campus in Canton.

“We are excited about offering these services to this community, as well as to our employees,” said Terry L. Micelli, Director of Rehabilitation. “With our new treatment options and services we are able to see multi-generational patients.”

In addition to the new services offered, the United Helpers therapy team is trained to treat neck and back pain, and injuries to the shoulder, hip, and knee. The therapy team also provides treatment for sports injuries; post-surgical rehabilitation; an advanced specialty in vestibular rehabilitation; balance and strengthening services; electrical stimulation; paraffin; wheelchair evaluations and modifications; neuromuscular rehabilitation; moist heat/cold therapy; and Ultrasound/Phonophoresis, as well as subacute rehabilitation.

Licensed therapists on both campuses are trained to understand all of the movements and interactions of the body. They can examine and assess patients’ conditions and design a treatment plan. Therapist also instruct how to maintain good health and assist in preventing further incidents.

“The therapy did a world of good for me and got me strong after my operation,” said Don C. Thurman of Heuvelton.

“I knew quite a few people at Maplewood and was able to visit with friends when I was not at therapy.  Everybody was great to me and the therapists worked very hard to help me get my strength back,” said Lorna M. Webb from Canton.
