MASSENA — New Hometown Hero banners honoring local military service members have been raised in the village of Massena.
The Hometown Heroes Committee announced that the banners will be on display through November.
Committee members also offered their thanks to the local donors who made the banners possible.
“Thank you to Stubbs Printing, Jenacks Canvas, A and J Embroidery, Frenchies Ford, Frenchies Chevrolet, the North Country Chamber of Commerce, SeaComm Federal Credit Union, Massena AmVets Post 4, the American Legion Post 79, Massena Rotary, Massena Savings and Loan, the Village of Massena Department of Public Works, Massena Electric Department, and the Village of Massena,” the committee announced.
Additional donors include Rob Rufa, Brian and Trish Murphy, and a donor who wishes to remain anonymous, a press release said.
The committee will begin accepting applications for banners again later this year, though no new banners will be raised this year as the deadline has since passed.
