MASSENA — The Police Activities League of Massena has a new director.

Jodele Hammock announced via the PAL website on Oct. 11 that she has joined the organization as the new director.

The PAL, formerly known as the Boys & Girls Club of Massena, is open to students in grades 2-12.

PAL of Massena is a “drop-in” after-school club that offers supervised, evidence-based programs to help our members in academic success, good character, citizenship and healthy lifestyles, according to their website.

A Massena resident, Hammock has worked in the human services sector for over 18 years, she said.

She began her career working with children and families as a teacher’s aide, eventually working as an administrator at a learning center in Virginia, she said.

Following a relocation to Massena, Hammock continued her service work with families and children at the Saint Regis Mohawk Tribe in the field of Education and Social Services, according to her post.

Hammock’s experience also includes working in the school district as a substitute and as a School Counselor Assistant, according to her post.

A graduate of SUNY Potsdam, Hammock obtained her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications and Master of Science degree in Organizational Leadership, she said.

“I love working with the community, surrounded by like minds, and am excited to provide positive opportunities to our PAL members and the community we serve with our exceptional PAL staff and supportive Board of Directors,” she said.

To offer feedback and ideas, Hammock can be reached by calling 315-705-6075 or by emailing Director@massenapal.com.
