CANTON -- A Morristown man in jail waiting action on several charges including assaulting a female victim several times faces new charges of felony contempt.

The case has drawn in his father and a woman who both have played a part in his continuing harassment of the woman, according to the St. Lawrence County Sheriff's office.

Nicholas A. Delosh, 30, of Morristown, was charged Tuesday with persuading a woman to call the victim's doctor to accuse her of drug abuse and selling drugs.

Deputies allege that Delosh sent a letter from the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility to Shannon J. Reynolds, telling her to contact the victim's doctor and make the drug allegations. She did, and subsequently the doctor refused to renew a prescription for medication. Reynolds is cooperating with the investigation and has not been charged.

Delosh was charged Tuesday with aggravated criminal contempt, a Class D felony, and was arraigned before Judge Storie in Canton Village Court.

He was also arraigned Tuesday on the aggravated criminal contempt charges deputies made Jan. 4, accusing him of persuading his father, David Delosh, 56, Potsdam, to make a telephone call to the alleged victim in violation of an order of protection. The father has been charged with misdemeanor conspiracy.

Delosh was arrested in December and jailed without bail on charges of several instances of felony assault on a woman he knew. The Morristown court issued an order of protection for the woman, who had gone to Renewal House in Canton seeking help and to report the alleged assaults.

Delosh remains in the sheriff's custody without bail.
