Although the northern part of St. Lawrence County dodged heavy snow accumulations on Thursday, the southern part of the county, including the Gouverneur area, experienced heavy snowfall totals, with more snow forecasted for tonight and Saturday.

The National Weather Service is calling for up to an additional 25 inches of snow through Sunday in Gouverneur. The forecast calls for 6 to 10 inches today, 5 to 9 inches tonight, and 2 to 6 inches on Saturday.

NCTW was informed that Harrisville was hit with 21 inches of snow on Thursday with reports of flickering power and unplowed roads.

Looking at forecasted snowfall amounts, Gouverneur is expected to get up to 25 inches of new snow, Ogdensburg and Canton up to 11 inches, Potsdam up to 6 inches, and Massena about 1 inch through Sunday.
