MetLife Foundation has donated $20,000 to Food Bank of Central New York in East Syracuse, to help the food bank respond to growing needs in the communities it serves, including food pantries and Neighborhood Centers in St. Lawrence County.
Food Bank of Central New York distributed over 11 million pounds of food to hungry individuals and families last year in Cayuga, Chenango, Cortland, Herkimer, Jefferson, Lewis, Madison, Oneida, Onondaga, Oswego and St. Lawrence counties.
The Food Bank is working to eliminate hunger through nutritious food distribution, education, and advocacy in cooperation with the communities it serves.
The Food Bank is the primary food supplier for 277 emergency food programs in the 11 county service area of central and northern New York.
