Memorial hallway dedication at Norwood-Norfolk honors deceased teacher, school board president

NORWOOD – A former teacher and school board president will be honored Sept. 21 at Norwood-Norfolk Central School.

The legacy of Jon Hazen will be honored during a memorial hallway dedication Saturday, Sept. 21 at 1 p.m., according to NNCS Superintendent Jamie Cruikshank.

“We invite all to the unveiling of the dedication plaque that will be fixed to the wall in the 8th grade hallway,” Cruikshank said. “Whether on the field, rink, track or in the classroom and boardroom, Jon anchored all that he did with the belief in public education. A lifelong Flyer, everyday he gave his all for the community and the children of Norwood-Norfolk, this hallway dedication is most appropriate.”

Cruikshank and Hazen’s family will gather in the middle school lobby and, together, walk upstairs to the dedication.

“When we think of #FlyerPride we envision the accomplishments of children,” Cruikshank said. “It's important to remember that our children are able to have these accomplishments because of people like Jon Hazen.”
