MASSENA — The Board of Education swore in a new student ex officio member.
Massena High School senior Delaney Durant will serve as a non-voting board member for the remainder of the school year. During reports from board officers at monthly school board meetings, the student board member typically gives a short report of what’s going on among the student body.
Superintendent Pat Brady said she “comes with a great pedigree” and participates in music and sports, in addition to serving on the Student Council.
He said after graduation, Durant is “heading off to college and wants to go into law enforcement.”
“Congratulations, I guess, and thanks for helping us out,” Board President Pat Bronchetti said.
