Massena school board makes 10 appointments

MASSENA -- The Board of Education made 10 appointments and named a substitute, along with other personnel actions at their Thursday, June 9 meeting.

The board appointed: Angela Wilhelm, district clerk and secretary to the superintendent, effective July 13, $46,000 pro-rated salary; Kristin Colarusso-Martin, Community Schools site director, $60,030 salary; Tracey Supernault, human resources specialist, $52,020 salary; Mallory Olson, district treasurer, $46,675 salary; Heather Chontosh, Jefferson elementary teaching assistant, effective Sept. 1, 2020 to Aug. 31, 2024, $34,456 salary; teacher aides Doreen Kemison (junior high, $22,162 salary), and at respective $19,133 salaries Jackie Oliver and Mackenzie LaBrake (Madison Elementary); Eric Weinzapfel (Jefferson Elementary) and Darlene Boudreau (Nightengale Elementary).

The board appointed Chrissy Phillips ($26.88 per hour, up to three hours on Mondays), Joyce French ($20.33 per hour, up to eight hours on Mondays), Melody Hartigan ($18.48, up to eight hours on Mondays), Elizabeth Ward ($19.25 per hour, up to eight hours on Mondays) and John Sheets ($27.30 per hour, about seven hours per week for seven weeks).

The board granted a leave of absence to high school keyboard specialist Robin Boutot from July 14 to a to-be-determined date.

The board adjusted Nightengale Elementary teacher Emily LaPage’s salary to $42,627 after completion of a master’s degree.

The board appointed substitute Shari Tyo. She was named as a teacher/teaching assistant sub for $100 or $95 per day, and a support staff sub at $12.75 or $13.50 per hour.
