MASSENA — After taking action throughout the summer to approve purchases of new equipment for the Massena Rescue Squad, officials say they are starting to take delivery.
According to Fire Department Foreman Aaron Hardy, new CPR devices have been delivered to the rescue squad recently. The announcement came during the Village Board’s Nov. 15 meeting.
Hardy said the new monitors that were ordered for the rescue squad should be delivered sometime in December, at which time all members will be trained how to use the new devices.
Hardy also said he received good news regarding the new ambulance the rescue squad ordered, saying the vehicle should be delivered to the dealership sometime in December as well.
Once the dealer has taken delivery, Hardy said the vehicle will be outfitted to the specs requested by the rescue squad.
That ambulance will then be put into circulation to replace a 2007 chassis that has proven to be problematic over the last year, Hardy previously said.
