MASSENA -- Village Police have identified the two people found dead in a Victory Road apartment on Thursday morning.
The deceased are Sara B. Cutler, 28, of Norwood and Brian S. Fountaine, 47, of Massena.
Police are not commenting on the cause of death, but Acting Chief Adam Love says “the deaths do not appear to be suspicious at this time.”
He said St. Lawrence County Coroner James Sienkiewycz was called to the scene. Dr. Samuel Livingstone completed autopsies Thursday night.
“The causes of death of Ms. Cutler and Mr. Fontaine are pending the completion of toxicology results. Those results are not expected to be completed for several weeks,” according to Love.
Massena Village Police Department investigators responded to 55 Victory Road Apt. 13 at 6:10 a.m. Thursday. They were assisted by the Department of Homeland Security’s Forensic Unit. Contrary to rumors circulating on social media, Love says the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) is not involved with the investigation.
Love said a 911 caller alerted them to the scene, but has not said who made the call.
