MASSENA – The Village of Massena has opened a cooling center at the Massena Fire Station today from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. for anyone that is feeling physical discomfort during today’s high heat and heat index, according to police Chief Timmy Currier.
Anyone that needs to escape the heat is encouraged to go to the fire hall on Andrews Street.
The building is air conditioned and comfortable.
There will be water available and medical attention can be summoned should that need arise.
Anyone who needs transportation to the fire hall should call the Massena Police Department at 769-3577.
The building will be staffed by fire department drivers and volunteers.
