MASSENA -- The Alcoa Foundation has told the Massena Memorial Hospital Foundation that a $120,000 grant is coming, which the hospital says will go toward a new cardiac monitoring system.
The three-year grant will assist with the purchase, implementation, and necessary staff training of a hospital-wide, wireless cardiac monitoring system.
The new system has expanded capabilities, mobility, and electronic medical record interfacing that will enable the medical staff and nurses to monitor patients not only in the intensive care unit but also the emergency room, telemetry, endoscopy, and ambulatory surgical unit recovery room.
Since 1997, the Massena Memorial Hospital Foundation has received no less than five Alcoa Foundation grants. “We are fortunate to have Alcoa as our community’s largest employer but also as a steadfast supporter of enhancing patient care at Massena Memorial Hospital. Alcoa has demonstrated its commitment to improving healthcare services at our hospital for many years,” said Julia Rose, MMH Foundation Executive Director.
