POTSDAM -- A Massena man is alleged to have been driving drunk and using an electronic device when he was in a vehicle accident that injured him.
Douglas W. Hall, 7 School St., was driving a 2004 GMC Canyon along State Rt. 56 south of Norwood at about 12:20 a.m. Aug. 21 when he allegedly drove across the opposing lane of traffic and left the road, hit a culvert pipe, and ended up in a ditch.
St. Lawrence County Sheriif's deputies on the scene believed Hall had been drinking. Hall was taken to Canton-Potsdam Hospital for treatment, and was subsequently issued tickets alleging driving while intoxicated, failure to keep right, and driving while using a portable electronic device. The Sheriff's Office says additional charges are pending the results of chemical tests.
Hall is to appear in Potsdam Town Court Sept. 15.
