North Country This Week
MASSENA — Massena residents looking for a little fun and excitement will have a few options over the next few weeks as many programs start up, including youth soccer.
Pickleball courts are currently available in the Massena Arena, with five courts available until 3 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Those wishing to use the courts are encouraged to call ahead to ensure other events are not scheduled during the time frame they wish to play, officials say.
Equipment is also available from the recreation department for players to borrow.
Additional courts will also be available in the near future, with additional courts expected to open in July after resurfacing is completed on the tennis courts at Alcoa Field.
Youth soccer is also planned, with registration closing soon.
Cost is $50 per player, which includes a jersey and pair of shorts.
Players aged pre-kindergarten through 10th grade are eligible.
All games will be played at the Massena Arena, Massena High School, as well as Jefferson, Madison and Nightengale elementary schools, officials say.
