PIERCEFIELD — A North Country man was charged with felony drug possession after fleeing a traffic stop on State Highway 3 July 3, according to St. Lawrence County sheriff’s deputies.
Scott J. Leclair, 58, Churubusco, was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, felony and three counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, officers said.
He was also charged with criminal use of drug paraphernalia, third-degree unlawfully fleeing a police officer and multiple vehicle and traffic infractions, deputies said.
Leclair allegedly fled law enforcement who were attempting to conduct a traffic stop on the vehicle he was driving.
The subject was located July 4 in Conifer and found to be in possession of several controlled substances, officers said.
He was arraigned by Judge Morgan and remanded to St. Lawrence County jail.
