Updated Sept. 29 to correct library hours

MADRID -- Madrid Hepburn Library has many new changes, including a new library director, Deborah Chase-Lauther. She has lived in Madrid for the past 12 years and is originally from Montreal.

The library is now offering both curbside pickup and individual appointments to visit the library in person by calling 315-322-5673.

It is open Monday and Wednesday 2-7 p.m.; Tuesday and Thursday 2-5 p.m.; and Friday 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

At this time for everyone's safety, the library is limiting visits to one family or individual with a suggested time frame of 45 minutes to one hour.

“We are happy to assist patrons making copies, using the fax, or checking out materials.

Curbside pickup involves calling us ahead of time to let us know when you will be arriving to pick up your requested materials. We then deposit the items on a cart outside the front door,” said Chase-Lauther.

“We are currently putting together a new community program, Across the Fence, which will feature local community members sharing topics of expertise in a livestream format. This month, local yoga instructor Linda Betts, demonstrated how to relax in what can often be a stressful time. This video can be viewed on our Facebook page. Stay tuned for our upcoming guests. Halloween month will also feature a live reading once a week of a spine-tingling tale.”

Our Playful Learning Center features interactive kits that may be signed out for use at home, making learning ‘hands on.’ Yes, we have lots going on at Hepburn Library in Madrid,” said Chase-Lauther.
