The American Red Cross of Northern New York reports that their Disaster Action Team responded to the single-family house fire Thursday afternoon at 985 Cty. Rt. 3 in Rossie.
The Red Cross is providing emergency services to Francis and Virginia Schoff as a result of the fire.
The Disaster Action Team (DAT) responds to local residential emergencies and disasters such as fires. The team is a group of volunteers trained in administering to the needs of disaster victims. Red Cross assistance typically includes things such as temporary emergency shelter, financial assistance for food and replacement clothing, replacement medication, and emotional support.
