Five area religious organizations have joined 2,700 collection sites around the country participating in Operation Christmas Child, an outreach effort of the international Christian relief and evangelism organization Samaritan’s Purse held from Monday, Nov. 15 to Sunday, Nov. 22.

The organization collects shoeboxes filled with school supplies, hygiene items, and small toys for delivery to children in need around the world.

Since 1993, the project has delivered shoeboxes to more than 77 million individual children in some 130 countries.

Labels will be provided, and people will be able to track their boxes to find out where they are delivered.

There is more info online at www.samaritanspurse.org.
