CANTON – Licensed family nurse practitioner Sheryl Cruger has joined the medical team with St. Lawrence Health System’s Canton-Potsdam Hospital and is providing services at the St. Lawrence University Health Center, 23 Ramoda Dr.
Cruger first became associated with Canton-Potsdam Hospital as a floater in its off-site practices.
“I was assigned to the St. Lawrence University Health Center for a time and really enjoyed working with the students,” she said. “When the opportunity arose to work there again, I jumped at it.
“I appreciate the patient-focused care that is at the center of what the hospital represents, and I wanted to come back,” she said of Canton-Potsdam Hospital.
Cruger earned her master of science family nurse practitioner degree from the University of Rochester, and is a New York State licensed family nurse practitioner.
As an FNP, Cruger can work independently or in collaboration with other healthcare professionals to deliver family-focused care. She offers a wide range of healthcare services including health promotion, disease prevention, direct care and counseling. She is qualified to diagnose and treat complex health conditions of the body and mind.
