CANTON – A Town of Lawrence man was indicted Jan. 13 for criminally negligent homicide in connection with the death of an elderly man under his care on or about July 3, 2020.
Aric Barney, 44, is currently an inmate at the St. Lawrence County Correctional Facility.
A St. Lawrence County grand jury also charged Barney with endangering the welfare of an incompetent or physically disabled person.
In other grand jury action:
Courtney Barber, 29, of 615 Ford Ave., Ogdensburg, was indicted Thursday, Jan. 20, on charges of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and second-degree criminally using drug paraphernalia. It is alleged Barber was knowingly in possession of fentanyl and scales for the purpose of weighing controlled substances on June 7 in the city of Ogdensburg.
Amber Gilmore, aka Amber Pitts, 29, of 32 Prospect St., Gouverneur, was indicted Jan. 13 on a charge of fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property. It is alleged she possessed property not belonging to her in an amount exceeding $1,000.
Erin Jones, 44 of 1608 State Highway 420, Norfolk, was indicted Jan. 13 on a charge of fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Jones is accused of possessing cocaine on July 16 in the Village of Massena
