MADRID -- Sixty vendors attracted about 2,000 visitors Saturday to the second annual Craft, Food & Wine Open Air Market, hosted by the St. Lawrence County Chamber of Commerce and held at the St. Lawrence Power & Equipment Museum.
The event, designed as a creative and safe solution during Covid restriction in 2020, has proven to be a great opportunity to show off local wares and the unique and inspiring Power & Equipment Museum.
During the show, vendors exhibited and sold handmade and value-added products, offered wine and food samples and introduced shoppers to new business in the region. Along the way, visitors could enjoy tractors, tours of the old school house and fiber arts studio, the carriage barn and other living history exhibits.
“The Power & Equipment Museum in itself is an attraction that many people have never even experienced” noted Brooke Rouse, Director of Tourism for the County Chamber. “The craft, food and wine vendors make it come even more alive for this one day event, making it a mutually beneficial event for all involved.”
Although the Chamber looks forward to bringing back the Craft, Food & Wine Show as a holiday show to Maxcy Hall at SUNY Potsdam when permitted, it plans to continue this Open Air Market as an annual Fall Celebration.
