In its opening action of the new season, the Clarkson University Hockey team received a balanced effort throughout the lineup to dominate Royal Military College 7-0 in exhibition play before a boisterous crowd of 2,643 fans at Cheel Arena on Saturday night.

Junior defenseman Connor McCarthy (LaSalle, QUE) led the way with two goals and two assists. Sophomore Adam Tisdale (Cochrane, ALB) also tallied two goals and added an assist. Junior Jack Jacome (Caledon, ONT), sophomore Anthony Callin (Middleton, WI) and freshman Mathieu Gosselin (Quebec City, QUE) rounded out the Golden Knight goal scorers.

Sophomore Nick Campoli (Toronto, ONT) recorded three assists and classmate Josh Dunne (O'Fallon, MO) set up a pair of scores.

It took a little while for the Green and Gold offense to get going, but once Jacome opened the scoring with 61 seconds remaining in the first period Clarkson was on its way.

A pair of power-play goals by McCarthy in the middle frame made it 3-0 after 40 minutes.

Tisdale opened a four-goal third period, scoring just 75 seconds in. Callin, Gosselin, on the power play, and Tisdale again rounded out the scoring.

Clarkson outshot RMC 56-19. Graduate transfer Frank Marotte (Longueuil, QUE) started in the Knights' crease and made 13 saves through two periods of action. Junior Kris Oldham (Anchorage, AK) turned aside all six shots he faced over the final 20 minutes.

The Knights were 3-of-8 on the power play and killed off all four of RMC's man-advantage attempts.

Clarkson will look to carry over the exhibition win against RMC into its official season opener this coming weekend at the University of Michigan.
