Kinney Drugs will hold a series of medicine collection days the last Saturday of February and March to encourage the community to drop off unused or expired prescription medications to ensure proper destruction.

Over-the-counter medicines, ointments, sprays, inhalers, creams, medication vials and pet medications are acceptable. Controlled prescriptions cannot be taken, such as narcotic prescriptions that include codeine, hydrocodone (Vicodin) and morphine. Also not being taken are illegal drugs, biohazardous materials, needles, personal care products and household hazardous wastes like paint or pesticides.

All medication brought to the drop-off must remain in the original bottle or package with the name of the product clearly visible. However, personal names and addresses may be removed or blocked out.

Medicine collection dates are Saturday, Feb. 26 and Saturday, March 26 at all Kinney Drug locations from open to close. The collections are free and open to the public.
