Are you one of the 600+ viewers who saw the June Fruition Local Food Showcase online?

It’s an amazing time of year for food grown or made in northern New York and this new livestream shines a spotlight on three unique food producers on the third Wednesday of each month. The Local Foods team at Cornell Cooperative Extension of St. Lawrence County is gearing up for another showcase.

This online storytelling venture exposes consumers to the businesses that produce, prepare or sell food items available in St. Lawrence County, such as farmers, chefs, food entrepreneurs and retailers.

The guests on July 21st, 7-8pm will be Morgan Leeson of O & E Farm in Gouverneur, Kelly Burnham of The Root Cellar Juice Bar at Flying Lotus Yoga Center in Canton and Mark Berninghausen of Squeak Creek Apiaries in Brasher Falls.

The livestream includes 1-1 interviews, 15 minutes apiece with each of the three featured guests. In addition to the conversation there are prizes from each business and seasonal recipes.

The Fruition Showcase is free for the guest participants as well as any community members eager to learn more about the food system of this region. The showcase will be livestreamed on Facebook via the Cornell Cooperative Extension page @CCEofSLC as well as on YouTube at CCE of SLC.

July is a paradise of options for foodstuffs that spring from our northern soils; tune in and stock up!
