POTSDAM – Fire investigators were still looking into the cause of a fire that destroyed an unoccupied house on Sisson Road Tuesday night.
Potsdam fire and rescue volunteers got the call at 7:56 p.m. to 44 Sisson Road, off of Sissonville Road in the town of Potsdam. The house, unoccupied at the time, is owned by Christopher and Apryl McDonald of County Rt. 38, Norfolk.
Mutual aid was supplied by West Potsdam, Norwood, West Stockholm, Louisville and Madrid fire departments; West Stockholm, Hannawa Falls and Norfolk volunteers were on standby.
Fire investigators report the structure was a total loss. The cause is as yet unknown.
The McDonalds reportedly have insurance on the house.
