A few scattered thunderstorms are possible today on what is expected to be an otherwise clear and warm Independence Day weekend in St. Lawrence County, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

Above normal temperatures return today with highs expected to peak
into the mid 80s to low 90s, NWS says. Showers and isolated thunderstorms are likely to develop later today and continue overnight and early Saturday as a cold front crosses the region.
Forecasters are calling for a high near 85 today with winds at 9-15 mph and gusts as high as 25 mph.
Temperatures trend cooler in the mid 70s for the latter half of the holiday weekend with the next chance for precipitation arriving Tuesday, the service says.
The forecast through next Thursday is as follows:

Sunny, with a high near 79. West wind 8 to 13 mph.
Saturday Night
Mostly clear, with a low around 55. Southwest wind 8 to 13 mph becoming light south after midnight.
Sunday
Sunny, with a high near 75. Light southwest wind becoming west 6 to 11 mph in the morning.
Sunday Night
Partly cloudy, with a low around 56. Calm wind becoming south around 6 mph after midnight.
Independence Day
Mostly sunny, with a high near 76. Southwest wind around 7 mph.
Monday Night
A 30 percent chance of showers after 2am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 59. Southwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.
Tuesday
A 30 percent chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 75. North wind around 5 mph.
Tuesday Night
Partly cloudy, with a low around 55. Light east wind.
