It will be a hot and humid day across St. Lawrence County with heat indexes ranging from 90 to 100 degrees, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
Showers and thunderstorms will likely develop across the North Country this afternoon and will continue on and off through Friday, NWS says. Heavy rain and frequent lightning are possible.
Expect a high today around 84 with heat index values in the 90s, forecasters say. Overnight the low will be around 69.
Somewhat drier weather is expected this weekend, although temperatures in the mid 80s to lower 90s are expected with heat indices possibly exceeding 95 degrees, the service says.

A chance of showers and thunderstorms before 3pm, then a slight chance of showers between 3pm and 4pm, then a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 4pm. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 81.
