POTSDAM — Hospice care is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life through compassionate care for people affected by advanced illness and grief.

This year, Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley celebrates its 40th anniversary.

Join Hospice staff Mary Jones and Ruth Fishbeck for Hospice Highlights, an interactive and informative program, focusing on Hospice programs and new initiatives available to the community in 2023.

Hospice Highlights will be held online via ZOOM on Wednesday, January 25 at 7 p.m. It is free and open to the public. The program is sponsored by the Potsdam Interfaith Community as part of its ongoing online learning series.

Hospice will be launching a new advanced planning guide that was created out of the experience and lessons learned by Hospice over those 40 years. Those joining the program will be among the first in the area to learn about this valuable resource.

Hospice of St. Lawrence Valley was founded in 1983 as an all-volunteer organization serving one patient at a time; today it provides services to over 400 patients and their families each year, with its trained professional staff and committed volunteers. Over the years, Hospice expanded its services and has become the primary resource in the community for grief information and education, services and support.

The Potsdam Interfaith Community is an organization composed of religious communities in the Potsdam area. PIC’s mission is to celebrate diversity within the community by providing mutual support, encouragement, and education through acts of service and compassion, common witness, and spiritual and intellectual growth.
