OGDENSBURG — A holiday craft fair drew more than 1,000 people to the Ogdensburg Golden Dome for an event which capped off with a winter parade and fireworks display.
Event Co-organizer Chris Lalone said the Seaway Festival Committee was grateful to the nearly 100 vendors who showed up despite a snow storm Friday that hit hard just west and south of the city.
“When we opened up Saturday morning it was nice and clear out,” he said, adding that things took a bit of a turn in the evening during the parade. However, Lalone said snow didn’t hinder the fun.
“It was good, everything went well and we’re hoping to draw 1,500 people next year,” he said.
Lalone said proceeds from the craft fair help fund the Seaway Festival, but this year half of the money will go to the Frederic Remington Museum.
Lalone says next year he’s hopeful the event can help multiple not-for-profits.
Lalone offered appreciation to all the businesses who help sponsor the event and to all the families who came out to enjoy the festivities.
In the evening a parade featured a visit from Santa Claus and was followed by a massive fireworks display.
Lalone said a very small group of people worked very hard to bring everything together.
