POTSDAM — Nearly $9,000 was raised at the 26th annual Hobble Gobble Prediction Walk and Run Saturday.
A total of 240 runners and walkers participated, some dressed with turkey hats and costumes.
The event was based at The Stables at Windy Point, Sissonville Road, with separate routes for walkers and runners.
“The energy at the Hobble Gobble every year is truly inspirational. To be surrounded by so many people in support of such a worthy cause is true North Country Magic,” said Jacqueline Bill, event organizer.
Proceeds benefit the Potsdam Holiday Fund and other local charities.
The winners were the participants who predicted their total time most accurately.
The top prediction winners for the short course were Nadia Marano of Canton, Rachelle Doth of South Glengarry, Canada, Kailin Backus of Rensselaer Fall, Everett Palmer of Potsdam, Tony Martin of Chateaugay, Erin Knox of Russell, and Fiona Weir of Ottawa, Canada,.
Top prediction winners for the long course were Matt Homer of Potsdam, Mike Fiorentino of Watertown, Amy Hollister of Massena , and Jude Ducharme of Brushton.
After the race, participants were treated to a meal, including chili donated by Big Spoon Kitchen, cookies donated by Cindy’s Cake Shop, yogurt donated by North Country Dairy and beverages given by St. Lawrence Health.
