HEUVELTON — Younger students at Heuvelton Central will attend school four days a week and older students will learn in-school two days a week and three from home, according to school officials.
Students in pre-K and kindergarten will attend four half-days each week, typically Monday through Thursday, unless there is a scheduled day off. Students will learn remotely for the fifth day.
First through third graders will attend four full days weekly with a remote learning day on the fifth day, typically Friday.
Students in grades 4-6 will attend four days a week or take part in a hybrid schedule that includes two consecutive days in the building, with virtual learning the other three days. Students attending four fill days a week will be decided by staff and communicated to families once a determination has been made. Students who are hybrid learners will be divided into two groups.
Students in grades K-6 will remain with the same peers throughout the day, but will participate in daily recess, lunch and special area classes, with some modifications.
School officials say seventh through twelfth graders will have a hybrid schedule of two days in the building and three days of virtual learning. This will result in fewer students in the building, allowing for greater social distancing.
Families will receive communication from school officials as to what days students will need to be in school. Half the students will attend Monday and Tuesday, and the other half Wednesday and Thursday, with all students learning from home on Fridays.
