RUSSELL — A Hermon man who was charged with driving while intoxicated allegedly became combative with state police and medical personnel following an incident Sept. 24.
Troopers charged 32-year-old Aaron R. Johnson with DWI following a report of reckless driving on County Route 17 at 7:45 p.m. that day.
Johnson refused testing to determine the alcohol and/or drug content of his blood.
He reportedly experienced a medical event during the investigation and rescue responded to the scene.
He was transported to the Canton-Potsdam Hospital where he was combative with troopers and hospital staff, officers said. Johnson allegedly kicked one of the investigating troopers. Upon his release, Johnson was charged with DWI, first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, and second-degree harassment.
He was cited and released.
