HANNAWA FALLS — The Helping Hands Cindy Talcott Memorial Golf Tournament raised over $20,000 to help others in need in St. Lawrence County.
The event was held Saturday July 18 at the Potsdam Town and Country Club.
Before golfers teed off, Helping Hands Executive Director Tom Chappell presented 2020 Helping Hands Barry Scholz volunteer of the year awards to Jo Ann Waters and Eddie and Ellen Planty.
They were chosen having exemplified the example set by Barry Scholz, who was an exceptionally generous volunteer and Board member at Helping Hands, according to a press release.
"I want to thank Co-Chairs Betty Connolly and Theresa Smith and the rest of the volunteers, sponsors, staff at Potsdam Town and Country Club, and golfers who worked, gave and golfed, so that we can meet the needs of so many more people in need during these trying times,” said Chappell.
