Hammond Central School names class leaders

HAMMOND -- The academic leaders for the class of 2019 at Hammond Central School are Amanda Pease, valedictorian, and Brandy Milsap, salutatorian.

Miss Pease, daughter of Daniel and Mary Pease, has an academic average of 95.74. She will graduate with an Advanced Regents Diploma. She was the district’s highest-ranking nominee for the New York State Academic Excellence Scholarship. Amanda attends the college preparatory program Allied Health at Northwest Technical Center.

Miss Pease has been a member of the soccer and softball teams for four years. Amanda is also the secretary of her class, a current member of the National Honor Society and has been involved in Science Club, Student Council, and Book Club. She received the Elmira Key Award, Clarkson Achievement Award and Rensselear Medal Program Award.

Miss Amanda Pease plans to attend Jefferson Community College and pursue a career in Therapeutic Recreation.

Miss Milsap, daughter of Paul Milsap and Tammy Milsap, has an academic average of 93.50. She will graduate with an Advanced Regents Diploma with an annotation for mastery in science. Brandy received the New York State Academic Excellence Scholarship, Clarkson Leadership Award and University of Rochester Frederick Douglas and Susan B Anthony Award.

Miss Milsap is a member of the soccer and basketball teams, student council, Shared Decision Making Committee, yearbook club and science club. In addition to her extracurricular activities and excelling in her academics, Brandy maintains a job throughout the school year.

Miss Brandy Milsap plans to study Biomedical Science with a focus on Veterinary Science at SUNY Plattsburgh.
