But before the sun arrives, there’s still a possibility of more snow.
At least that’s what the National Weather Service is predicting.
Occasional showers are expected later this afternoon in the North Country, mainly after 4 p.m., the weather service says. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent with rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.
Tonight, expect rain showers before 4 a.m., then rain and snow showers are likely. Low will be around 35. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent, the weather service says. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch is possible.
Friday, rain showers and snow are likely before 1 p.m. Cloudy skies are predicted, with a high near 44. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent.
Friday night, the weather service expects mostly cloudy skies, then gradually becoming mostly clear, with a low around 22.
This weekend, sunny skies are predicted both days, with a high near 48 on Saturday and 47 on Sunday. Lows both nights should be in the mid-20s.
