GOUVERNEUR — A Gouverneur woman was charged with possession of fake $100, according to Gouverneur police.
Natalie N. Besaw, 38, was arrested at 6:25 p.m. on two counts of first-degree possession of a forged instrument, felony, officers said.
She possessed two forged $100 bills at two different locations with knowledge that it was forged and with intent to defraud, officers said.
She reportedly entered both Mrs. Beasley’s Liquor / Wine and A-Plus gas station and used the forged $100 bills to purchase merchandise, police said.
The defendant further victimized the two locations by accepting authentic American currency as change, officers said.
She was arraigned in Gouverneur Town Court before Judge Stanley Young and was released under the supervision of probation with a return Gouverneur Town Court date, police said.
