GOUVERNEUR – A Gouverneur woman has been charged with stealing prescription drugs from her employer, Kinney Drugs.
Racheal A. Cushman, 36, was arrested at 9:19 a.m. Monday, March 11 and charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance – intent to sell, fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance - narcotic ,and petit larceny.
The Gouverneur Village Police Department received a complaint accusing the defendant, a Kinney Drugs Central Fill employee, of stealing a controlled substance, buprenorphine hydrochloride 8 MG with total weight of approximately 51 grams by placing the pills inside a prescription vial and concealing the vial in her sleeve.
Police say she then placed the prescription vial in the back of her pants.
Cushman was arraigned in Gouverneur Town Court before Judge Travis Dann and released under the supervision of probation.
She is to appear in Gouverneur Town Court on a later date.
