GOUVERNEUR -- A Gouverneur resident was accused of striking a police officer in the face during an incident Nov. 15, according to village police.
Hailey A. Martin, 19, was charged at 7:58 p.m. with resisting arrest, second-degree harassment, and disorderly conduct, officers said.
The charges stemmed from an incident on Depot Street where Martin was allegedly yelling and attempting to fight another person.
While the officer was detaining Martin, she reportedly struck the officer in the face with her hand.
She was issued an appearance ticket with a Gouverneur Town Court date.
