CANTON — Two people were arrested Thursday in connection with a robbery at Bill’s Auto, 235 Old Route 11, according to St. Lawrence County sheriff’s deputies.

Deputies responded to a report of a robbery in progress and a description of a getaway vehicle was broadcast over St. Lawrence County 911, officers said.

The vehicle was described as a dark colored Dodge Avenger.

Deputies and state police reportedly observed a vehicle fitting that description near the intersection of U.S. Highway 11 and SH 812.

The vehicle was stopped in the parking lot of Silver Leaf Diner on U.S. Highway 11 and ordered the two subjects out of the vehicle, officers said.

Deputies also charged Carlton Morman, 27, Syracuse, with second-degree robbery, felony.

The subjects were being held for arraignment.

Deputies and state police were assisted by Gouverneur and Canton police.
