GOUVERNEUR — A Gouverneur man was jailed after allegedly nearly choking another person unconscious May 6, according to village police.
Dylan J. Parker, 23, was arrested at 6:57 p.m. for second-degree strangulation and third-degree assault following an alleged domestic incident on Barnes Street, officers said.
Parker and the victim reportedly got into a verbal argument that turned physical when Parker threw the victim around the living room causing an injury to her right arm, police said.
Parker proceeded to strangle the victim by placing both of his hands around her neck causing her to nearly lose consciousness.
He was arrested and arraigned at Gouverneur court and remanded to the St. Lawrence jail on $10,000 bail.
