GOUVERNEUR — A Gouverneur man was charged with drug possession after fleeing police both in a motor vehicle and on foot May 13, according to village police.
Korry J. Hodgdon, 52, was charged at 10 a.m. with unlawfully fleeing from a police officer, resisting arrest, two counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance (fentanyl/methamphetamine), three counts of reckless operation, speed in zone, and three counts of failure to signal and unregistered motor vehicle, officials said.
He was reportedly driving an unregistered motor vehicle on East Main Street and when patrol attempted to stop the subject the vehicle failed to comply, police said.
He allegedly failed to signal and drove 45 mph to 60 mph on South Street, William Street and Parker Street.
Hodgdon reportedly fled on foot at 110 Parker St. and was apprehended behind the residence, officers said.
He was found to be in possession of two controlled substances that field tested positive for methamphetamine and fentanyl, police said.
He was also found in possession of an electric stun-gun and switchblade knife when taken into custody, police said.
Hodgdon was charged with two counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, felony, offices said.
He reportedly has prior felony convictions making the possession of the weapons a felony. Defendant was arraigned at the Gouverneur Town Court and transported to the St. Lawrence County jail without bail.
Hodgdon was processed and released with appearance tickets with a Gouverneur Town Court date.
