GOUVERNEUR — Gouverneur Central School has shifted to remote learning until Nov. 30, according to Superintendent Lauren French.
A staff member tested positive for COVID-19 and the district moved to online learning Monday and Tuesday until more testing could be done. Several members of that person’s family have also tested positive, French said.
So far, eight staff members and eight students have been placed in quarantine, she said.
French, who spoke last night on Facebook live, said she is also concerned about a student whose family has tested positive for the virus and that child was in attendance all of last week when that subject was possibly contagious.
She said the district is working to provide public health the names of those who were in contact with that child as well.
Those with concerns can contact the school directly, French said.
