POTSDAM – Ron Page has converted one building from his former Colonial Village Fun Park on Rt. 11B to apartments, and plans on more.
Page says six “upscale” two-bedroom apartments have been made in what was the amusement park’s banquet hall.
The apartments have all new Energy Star appliances, radiant heat in the floors, and offer amenities such as laundry facilities and storage on site, a roofed pavilion that can be used for picnics and other outdoor events, and the availability of about half an acre per tenant of garden space.
“Every tenant can have half an acre or so,” Page says. “We can be a green community and grow our own food.”
Page says he’s also starting a flower garden.
Page says three of the apartments have been rented, at $1,250 per month, which includes heat, electric, water, sewer, trash, snowplowing and maintenance.
In the park’s “Fun Center,” Page says he plans another 21 apartments and three more in what was the go-cart building.
Page’s Colonial Village Fun Park operated in the early 2000s, with Page unveiling new features every year for several years, but it eventually closed down.
