E-readers can now be checked out from Canton Library

Posted

CANTON – Canton Free Library’s three Nook Color e-readers, purchased with grant funds from the Northern New York Library Network, are now available for checkout at the library for home use up to two weeks.

They may also be used in the library for a minimum of one hour.

Each Nook holds over 100 book titles – mystery, best sellers, science fiction, fantasy, romance – including new releases and old favorites.

A small collection of game apps is also available on each Nook, including Angry Birds, Scrabble, Chess, Mahjong, Hangman and more.

The Nooks must be checked out in person at the library and returned to the CFL Patron Services Desk on or before the two-week checkout date.

They may not be returned in the book drop or at any other library.

The Nooks are not available for interlibrary loan.

Patrons in good standing who are 18 years old and up may present a photo ID and complete a signed User Agreement form that explains the library’s regulations for the Nooks’ use.

For more information, call the library at 386-3712.
