Dusting of snow expected today in SLC with cold front to follow

A cold front will swing across the North Country today with scattered snow showers and slightly below normal temperatures, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).

A dusting to a few inches of snow can be anticipated, with much colder temperatures returning tonight into Monday morning, NWS says.

Cloudy skies will eventually turn sunny with temps falling to around 8 by 5 p.m., the service says. Overnight the low will be around -10.

The forecast through next Saturday is as follows:

Monday

Increasing clouds, with a high near 16. Wind chill values as low as -10. Calm wind becoming southwest around 6 mph in the morning.

Monday Night

Snow showers likely, mainly between 7pm and 4am. Cloudy, with a low around 13. East wind 3 to 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.

Tuesday

Snow showers likely, mainly before 8am. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 23. Light and variable wind becoming west 5 to 10 mph in the morning. Chance of precipitation is 60%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.

Tuesday Night

Mostly cloudy, with a low around -12. West wind 6 to 10 mph.

Wednesday

Mostly sunny and cold, with a high near 3. West wind 5 to 8 mph.

Partly cloudy, with a low around -14. South wind 3 to 7 mph.

Thursday

Partly sunny, with a high near 19. Southwest wind 9 to 15 mph.
