POTSDAM -- Community Performance Series has been forced to cancel this summer's production of the musical "I Love You, You're Perfect, Now Change," due to a lack of male auditions.

Three auditions for local actors were held in May and early June.

Despite the interest of several very talented local ladies, there were not enough men who auditioned to properly cast the show.

Additionally, CPS would not be able to use its traditional musical venue this year, at Snell Music Theater in SUNY Potsdam's Crane School of Music, because the space is being renovated over the summer.

CPS plans to resume its normal schedule with production of another large-scale musical next summer, when renovations in the Snell Theater will be complete.
